Menopause & Life Coaching: Part 2
I had to continue this conversation
Menopause is often spoken about in whispers…
Hot flushes, sleepless nights, mood swings — yes, they are real.
But what is rarely spoken about is this:
The emotional shift.
The identity shift.
The “Who am I now?” moment that’s deeply personal.
My Experience: Feeling Alone in It All
How I felt during menopause was very much alone, especially not having My Mum to discuss this with. Yes, the hot flushes and common ailments are discussed openly and often joked about, but what about:
The personal body changes
The impact on your mental health
All the things that, if not spoken about, can quietly leave you feeling isolated… even when you are surrounded by others.
There were moments where I didn’t quite recognise myself.
Not just physically, but emotionally.
And that silence — that lack of open conversation — made it harder.
So I made a decision.
I needed to understand what was happening to me.
So I went on a course to learn about menopause.
Not just to cope… but to truly understand.
Because sometimes, clarity is the first step to peace.
When Does Menopause Begin?
Many people assume menopause happens later in life — somewhere in your late 40s or 50s.

But the reality is:
Menopause can begin much earlier than expected.
Perimenopause can start in your late 30s or early 40s
Early menopause can happen before 45
Premature menopause can occur before 40
This is why so many women feel confused.
You may experience:
Anxiety that seems to come from nowhere
Low mood or emotional changes
Brain fog or forgetfulness
Sleep disruptionA feeling that “something just isn’t right”
And often, it’s not immediately recognised.
What Menopause Really Brings
Beyond the physical symptoms, menopause can bring:
A sense of loss (youth, identity, roles, child-bearing opportunity)
Emotional overwhelm
A need to finally put yourself first
A quiet questioning of your life and direction
After years of giving — to children, family, work —you are suddenly faced with:
“What about me?”
Where Life Coaching Comes In
This is where working with a Life Coach becomes powerful.
Not because something is wrong with you…But because something is changing within you.
A Life Coach gives you:
Space to talk honestly.Support without judgement.
Clarity when your thoughts feel overwhelming
Guidance as you rediscover yourself
Sometimes, you don’t need answers straight away.
You just need someone to listen.
Understanding Brings Strength.
For me, learning about menopause changed everything. .
It didn’t remove every symptom.
But it gave me:
Understanding
Language for what I was feeling
Reassurance that I wasn’t “losing myself”. I was transitioning.
And that understanding gave me strength.
Rebuilding Confidence
Menopause can shake your confidence in quiet ways.
You may feel:
Less certain
More emotional
Disconnected from who you used to be
But through support — and coaching — you begin to:
Reconnect with your strengths
Understand your emotions
Build a new version of confidence
Not the old you… but a stronger, wiser version.
This Is Not the End — It’s a Shift
Menopause is not the end of your story.
It is a new chapter.
One where:
You choose yourself
You find your voice again
You create a life that reflects who you are now
You Are Not Alone
If there is one thing I want you to take from this, it is this:
You are not alone.
Even if it feels that way.
There are conversations that need to be had.
There is support available.
And there is a version of you on the other side of this… stronger than before.
Ready to Talk?
If you are feeling overwhelmed, unsure, or simply need someone to talk to…You don’t have to go through this alone.
Life coaching offers:
A safe space
Emotional support
Guidance through change
✨ Sometimes the first step forward is simply talking.
